For thousands of years there were people who acted as healers, spiritual leaders, and innovators in their societies. Those people were known by various names in different cultures, but the name that seems to fit them best is Shaman. Like musicians and other artists, the Shaman seemed to be born to fulfill his office. They were identified from birth as special. In the modern world, this identification is no longer made. The question that arises is, did those born to the Office of Shaman suddenly cease to be? The answer is no. There are people who fulfill that Office to this very day. They may not think of themselves as Shamans but in reality they are. They are people with special abilities to understand human thought, human action and act as agents of change.
